Hair restoration is a minor surgical procedure requiring local anesthetic. Donor hairs are taken from the back and sides of your scalp because they are less prone to male pattern baldness hormones. Once hair is removed from these areas, the follicles are separated into individual and multiple grafts. These are then implanted into the problem areas. After surgery, you may or may not have a full head of hair, pending the severity of your starting condition; on rare occasions some people require more than one procedure. The transplanted hair will start to grow 3 to 5 months after the surgery. Full development typically occurs within 6 to 12 months. Hair restoration will not correct scalp disorders, if present. |
